1. Who we are
FUTURE AGENT (PTY) LTD is a registered estate agency in South Africa and the responsible party for the personal information processed in this system. Our Information Officer oversees compliance with POPIA and can be contacted at info@fapg.co.za.
2. What we collect
- Contact details (name, mobile and alternative numbers, email address, postal and street address).
- Identity details needed for FICA verification (South African ID number, date of birth, marital status, occupation).
- Property information, such as budgets, preferred areas, finance status, and details of a property you are selling.
- Records of our conversations, viewings, offers and follow-up reminders.
3. Why we use it
- To help you buy or sell property, from first contact to registration of transfer, and to provide after-sales service.
- To meet our legal duties under the Property Practitioners Act and the Financial Intelligence Centre Act.
- To send you new listings and market updates, but only if you have agreed to receive them.
4. Consent and direct marketing
- We record when and how you gave consent before we store your information. You may withdraw consent or object to direct marketing at any time, free of charge.
- Before any marketing campaign we check our database against the National Consumer Commission opt-out register, and we never market to numbers listed on it.
5. Who can see it
Only the property practitioner assigned to you and our authorised administrators can access your profile. We share information with conveyancers, bond originators and banks only when it is needed to complete your transaction.
6. Security and retention
Your information is kept in a secure, access-controlled database. Every agent signs in with their own account and access is withdrawn when they leave the agency. We keep records only for as long as the law requires, generally five years after the transaction under FICA.
7. Your rights
- You may ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, and withdraw consent.
- If you are unhappy with how we handled your information, you may complain to the Information Regulator (South Africa) at complaints.IR@inforegulator.org.za or via inforegulator.org.za.
Stop marketing messages
Use our opt-out form and your number will be blocked from marketing straight away.
